About Dr. Heather Portus

Dr. Heather Portus is board certified and licensed Chiropractic Physician who provides patient-centered care for acute and chronic pain conditions.  She attended the University of San Francisco where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and she then spent the next 20 years managing operations for a variety of industries including hospitality, property management most recently in Pre-K-12 Education. Working with bright minded students and amazing educators she was inspired to return to school to dedicate herself to helping people achieve their wellness goals.  She moved to Portland to attend the University of Western States where she obtained an additional Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and her Doctor of Chiropractic.  She is nationally licensed by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and state licensed in Oregon by the Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  

Dr. Portus believes in evidence informed chiropractic care, and she strives to empower patient by giving them tools for understanding and maintaining their health.  She believes that patient success is found in active doctor patient partnership and patient education.  She uses a variety of treatment methods including diversified manual adjustments of both the spine and extremities, Activator, drop-table, myofascial manipulation, kinesiotaping, IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation) as well as preventative and recovery-based exercise therapy.  She welcomes patients of all colors, shapes, sizes, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and genders.

In her free time Dr. Portus enjoys reading with a cup of tea surrounded by her dog and 2 cats, cooking, baking, skiing, hiking, exploring the magnificent PNW and traveling with her husband and daughter.
